Most big box stores or nurseries will have the Chilean or New Zealand moss.

All ive found so far is the peat moss, or 'sphagnum peat moss' which looks for like dirt than actual fibrous sphag

Check local greenhouses. I found some here in Saskatoon at a locally owned farm and garden center. Also any place that might deal in orchids.

It's the same stuff I've bought. It's a bit dirty, so pick out the sticks and the leaves and the roots... There was some random seeds in it too that sprouted. I plucked them out. Now I sterilize it before I use it by putting it in my instant pot (pot in pot method)

I just purchased this from a reptile store for $27. It looks like Sphagnum Moss. What do you think, will it do?
