Zeolite

I found some large zeolite chunks.
Has anyone experimented with planting pings on zeolite?

My brief reading about zeolites in agriculture shows benefit as a nutrient moderator. Essentially holding excess nutrients for slower release.

This is probably a safe addition in chunks you can remove later if it doesn't work, might be good to prevent burning if you fertilize.

Maybe a good idea to try soaking and PH testing to see if it hardens water or increases TDS excessively.
May also be worth soaking in a light acid at say PH 5.5 (phosphoric acid?) like people do with rockwool.

I soaked mine for a few days and it had a strong smell of sulphur. I decided to not try anything with it.

Your zeolite could be contaminated, as zeolite itself is supposed to be scentless, even being used as an odour control agent in some situations.

in fact it depends on their nature and especially their composition, their possibility of chemical interaction is their main drawback.
they are mainly used as a filter and they are renewed regularly.
prefer them: perlites, vermiculite, pumice stones, pouzzolanes
