Willy's DIY LED Grow Lights

So today concludes this little project of mine, building a custom LED grow light for Lloyd.
The whole design and build process has taken more time than expected because life has gotten in the way, but I'm quite happy that it turned out nicely.
I hope Lloyd will like it as much as I do. :)

Wow @WillyCKH this LED build is quite impressive! How much would something like this cost? Of course probably shipping to the US (Wisconsin) would be the killer :) I am looking for the best LED setup for my intermediate to low light requiring orchids in my 90cm x 90cm x 45cm deep exo terra terrarium.

I wish I have some measuring equipment to play with but according to the specs from LED chip supplier, they are 1000lm-1200lm each bar, PAR>80.

No idea of the PAR, but at around 10 inches, 2 bars give me 24 250 lx

Willy I’m going to buy three 48 inch or a bit less grow lights for this shelf real soon here. Were losing our hours of day light fast and want to keep growing our herbs. Do you want to make them for us?

Featuring... WilLED 2FT growlights! :)
They are light in weight so they can be mounted onto the metal ceilings simply with 3M engineering tape.
The result is really great. Bright, easy on the eyes, effective, and spread very evenly so that you don't see odd shadows on your plants.

The lights Willy sent my way are crazy.
Do not hesitate to contact him if you're looking for something specific.
Some pictures of my set-up to come in a few weeks.

Love our amazing growlights and the plants do too! Thanks Willy they fit and work perfect. We are already are thinking about more lighting.

If you ever come up with a wall mount gooseneck light that could mount above, say a hanging Nep we would be interested!

Loving the photos! Thank you for sharing and I'm glad that you and your wife and your plants are enjoying the new LEDs!!
Regarding the wall mounted LED... you know I can. ;)
PM me, Steve, we will talk more.

I really liked the LEDs that I've made for @stevebradford so I've made four more for myself. :)

This setup provides lighting for 8 trays of plants with a total of 16000lm. The structure is just some cardboard tubes joined with 3D printed connectors that I've designed in SolidWorks.
I've put some strings across so that in case of earthquake, the LEDs won't directly fall onto my plants.

I may need to look into LED's next, as much as I love my T5's I've only had them a couple years & I'm already having to replace ballasts and bulbs. It's not too expensive but it'll eventually add up. Another issue I'm having is since the lights are so big I lose a couple inches of grow space with how my bookcases are. My lowest shelf shows the issue the most, where I can't raise the light very high. I'd like to use that shelf for my sundews but it's a bit of a tight squeeze with flowers. I definitely need something flatter than a standard T5 ballast that's for sure. My only requirement would be fitting them within the dimensions of a standard T5 as they fit my bookcases exactly, I wouldn't be able to have anything bigger.
