Yes I have eaten a number of them, they taste sweet and have no ill effects.

I notice that your plants have few leaves now.
Do you know the reason?
Do you use fertilizer to compensate for the loss of nitrogen fertilizer provided by the ants?

Hello Jeff! They don't have many leaves because they have just went through moving and they are adjusting to new conditions so they aren't the happiest.
I mist diluted fertilizer on the plants once a month.
