What the heck is this stuff?

This tiny little forest of seems to have popped up overnight - anyone know what they will develop into?

It's hard to tell, but at least some of them look like they have caps that might start inflating, which makes me think they're moss sporophytes of some kind.

Ya - literally overnight they appeared

So that’s the name for those things! I didn’t know that. Huh.
I think it’s a combination of grass and sporophytes (my new favorite word )
