VFT seedlings “DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME”

Haza45

Plant
These seeds were water germinated August 25/2024 and transferred to a peat/pearlite/silica substrate September 28/2024. I’ve started feeding them Maxsea fertilizer at 1280 ppm or 3/8 of a tsp per 2 cups of water in my spray bottle, October 5/2024. 2 spray bottle pumps worth of the fertilizer. I’ll do this every 2 weeks, I’ll post an update pic every 2 weeks or until I get boarded lol.

How much light you give them ? I fertilized my Schuppenstiel seedlings with Maxsea at much lower concentration than your, the whole bunch died, only the typical survived. Applied Maxsea by brush.

I’m using a cheap led pannel light off Amazon 11”x13”, it’s 24” off the seedlings right now, 14 hr cycle, these are indoors for the winter. It’s also a full spectrum, you don’t want much pink light. More like a cool white. Around the 6000 kelvin range. But I do use the same fertilizer on all my plants in the greenhouse as well as Osmocote. Just a quick 2 pump spray.

Tried growing vft from seeds iny past but never succeeded in keeping them alive..it takes a long time to grow one to maturity. Divisions or tissue culture i believe is the only way to ensure timely growth.
