growing them as i do now i say no, if you have some room and want to grow just VFT's for fun this is a great way , I use a planter try 56 cm x 36cm x 9 cm, it dont need to be that big, long as its not to deep 9 cm ( less is ok too) is plenty, i line it with heavy duty plastic ,i buy mine at bunnings in 20 m x 2m rolls that unfold out to the 2 m wide , make sure that the sides are covered on the inside of the try fully , put several small drain holes in them bottom i use a pencil shaprened just the led part not the whole size of the pencil , then put your media in i just used TE-EM peat, and about 40% fine sand or fine perlite dont matter , and then put in 20 or 30 plants in rows,if the try is smaler dont need as many of cause, gently water them in and they just take off ,do it in early spring of cause .photos below are plants in my winte, most have just moved down in size not gone fully domant ,you can use a smaller tray, dont need to be so big ,takes a lot of mix to fill the big ones, they flowers drop the seed on the the mix and germinate quickly too, get lots of crosses very quickly this way too ,and they expand themselves super quickly too , low up keep , like to be flooded once a month, seems to help them with growing i see here in there grow season, easy to do, cant find my sumer photos to put up, if i do will put them up later .
