VFT Callus on leaf.

Hi,
So I pulled off one of my VFT's stalks and got some of the rhizome on it and I planted into the soil and it now has a callus at the base of the stalk. What do I do when little plantlets appear? Do I remove them? Do I just leave them with the stalk? DO I cut the stalk?

I haven’t tried propagating stem cuttings in peat/perlite, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as long as you keep it moist. My success has been about 75-80%.… though the ones that didn’t grow were the ones I lay sideways (I had read somewhere you could get more strikes that way, but mine just dried up). I like LFS because I can easily tell how moist it is if I forget to monitor the water in the tray… my plants In peat sometimes go a bit dry.

Haha, yes I do keep them in trays of water, but sometimes I forget to check as I have my plants spread across different rooms and different windowsills.. the ones in my hubby’s office room seem to get neglected, as I try not to disturb him in there. Would love a dedicated room when I retire out west one day!

Ah, ok. Just curious. I've been using peat/perlite for rhizome pulls and flower stems. Probably have about the same success rate as you.

The Stalk is now turning black and rotting. Will this harm the babies that are coming up from the base of the stalk?
