Vancouver island: bog hike. july 27

july 27th the Saturday!

Unforeseen circumstances aside, plan for it! All are welcome, drivers 4x4 capable vehicles only please, rides and seats shouldn’t be a problem (but please check with me) and as long as people can make it to Langford by 8am. Whether there is unpredictable, prepare for a day trip hiking in uneven terrain off trail with weather varying from 10 degrees and rain or 30 degrees of biting bugs. Also wet feet are almost a guarantee!

Love to have you and others @WillyCKH :) along! If there’s a couple Vancouver people coming i can arrange for you to walk on the ferry and I pick people up at the terminal and drop them off later in the day.

In the bog adventure machine up at bogs in the middle of winter:

Fortunately summer is much more warm, dusty and buggy.

We will see most of the native BC carnivorous plants including the newly described carnivorous Triantha occidentalis

I'd love to join but I have vaccine appointments in July and I'm cat-sitting until mid-August.
I would love to visit Vancouver island this year, maybe late August or early Sept. When I figured out the dates I'll definitely let you know, Steve!

What a nice Toy! Mines a 2006 Taco 4x4 SR5. No longer stock. If you want, I can dig up a picture or two.

I would so love to do this adventure. Just didn't know about it in time for annual vacation submission (for both my partner & I; so it's hard to arrange enough time off on short(ish) notice considering the drive out is always an adventure and I always seem to find a BC FSR to go down.,...
