Utricularia longifolia

Maybe I'll just cover it up with live sphagnum so the stolons can just run around. Tell me if that is ok. Thanks!
Also, I grow it in a very shallow dish, is that ok?

what it first looked like. It was very damaged in travel. Now, it is starting to grow some smaller leaves.

Try hitting it with fire, every time I try to murder mine it grows better. I contracted it in one of my mixed pots. Usually I’m a fan of tenacious weeds you can’t kill. This one I am not a fan of because of its long leaves that crowd out short plants aso the fear of accidentally infecting other people’s collections.
Yeah I have some longifolia in a couple heliamphora pots with young plants so i keep plucking utricularia leaves whenever they get bigger than a couple cm

the plant currently is growing small leaves, do I need it to have more light or a bigger pot. (its in a saucer).

I got a utricularia longifolia about 2 months ago and it is just now starting to spread. When I first got it alot of the leaves turned purple and some died but its getting new leaves and starting to spread across the peat. Any tips for getting it to flower? I keep it sitting in a tray of water and top water occasionally.

I never had one flower. Probably some combination of change in lighting/temperatures/moisture levels.

Mine flowered after 6 months and that was unexpected.
The flower last crazy long like orchid.

But now, the flowers are gone so I believe I'll have to wait for winter

Like maxsea? and should i just spray it on the leaves?
Maxsea works! Spray lightly on leaves, monthly. :)
Springtails and small isopods, daphnia are also good food source for them.
You can also add peat moss to your substrate, it's usually rich in tiny micro-organisms that will feed your smaller Utricularia.

personally, I found that good light and warmer temperatures make utrics really flowery.
