Rescue of Nepenthes hamata…in a funny way…

Im curious on how this guy did. I know putting nepenthes into TC from meristem tissue is notoriously hard. Did this guy survive?

The samples didn’t survive because of contamination. I didn’t remove enough layers to be close or to get to the meristem. But at least the plant gave me a basal shoot so in a way it survived.

Today I did my first meristem attempt on a Nepenthes…it’s so hard lolllll But I think I got it, will see in a few weeks. Much easier with seeds :p

TC is so addictive and so fun, I have been going full trottle but now realize I have so many successfull reproduction that I have to think to built a third Greenhouse to support the quantity of production, it’s just too insane…and my second Greenhouse will be ready in August but will be full by end of year lollll

TC is definitely fun once you get a hold of contam. My first few batches had tons of contam but I think I've finally got good enough at sterilization to have good results.
What sterilization protocol do you use for meristem? I'd like to give it a try

Yes at first contamination is the number one ennemy. Now my problem is space to acclimate all theses plants lolllllllllllll

For meristem, normal protocol like use of bleach for the explant, then when you remove all the layers, make sure you sterilize your instrument while pealing off the layer because when you reach the meristem it’s already free of contamination. It’s so small that you will need magnifier lens to manipulate it.
