Looks good. The roots like to ramble about with just enough buried in loose medium to support the plant.

Hey @Samskwatch, they are finally ready!
I know they need re-potted I am going to let them flower first, The first couple flowers opened on my big guy. The little one is not far behind.

Posted this previously in another thread but here is the orchid I have been caring for since August. It seems pretty content, the leaves are a nice color, the roots are fat and green and it hasn't lost any leaves yet (I know it eventually will, they don't last forever)

It lives in my bathroom under a skylight, it's a nice place with bright indirect sun for most of the day.

I know a lot of growers say to water the phalanopsis when the media is completely dry, I tried that with a previous orchid and its leaves cracked from not having enough water and the roots shriveled up and it died. It lived in the same location as my current orchid and the only thing I changed is more frequent watering.
I also water by drenching the media under a running tap for like, a minute or so. I'm careful not to get the leaves wet as from what I understand, if they get moisture in a little nook or crevice they can rot. I drain it well before returning it to it's blue pot thing and I check for any excess water sitting at the bottom of the blue pot

I moved my phals to clear pots with aeration holes in them that way you can see the roots and any standing water. I never heard of not getting the leaves wet. I've often in the summer misted the leaves to help with the heat with no ill effects. 2 of my Phals have some cracks in the leaves but that's because i knocked them over when cleaning oops!

I have grown one for years in a west facing window but it’s never flowered for me!
I try to keep on top of watering but admit it can get dry at times. It seems to grow ok- but no flower buds yet. It’s in an orchid bark mix. Any advice?

There are some valuable tips on Phal Orchids earlier in this string
