Occasional Extra Small Traps

Hey, was wondering if there’s any reason for my Sobeys-bought VFT to be occasionally putting out these traps that are like 1/4 the size of its normal growth? Both are new growth that occurred under my care so it’s left me quite confused haha

Im no expert on VFTs but it looks like those are coming from a second growth point

That would be my guess. Do they seem to be centered from slightly away from the main growth cluster, making a separate growth cluster?

On closer inspection this does seem to be the case! Can’t recall there being two rhizomes when I repot this one, but it’s quite a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the info

Mine makes extra rhizomes all the time (from TC).
