Hey everyone! I'm curious; has anyone ever moved their CP collection, houseplants, aquariums, etc.? If so, how far? What was your process for keeping everything safe? Did it work?
When I moved 15 years ago, I moved my plants to a rental apartment and then to our present house. Moved the plants in a compact car. Only a couple of miles away on residential roads. Just took it slowish.
How far are you moving? When I moved my things from ontario to saskatchewan I just mailed all of my plants to my new address. The plants were bagged and in insulated and well packed boxes. I mailed them before I flew out so that they arrived after I was at the new place. I ended up having my car shipped out and I was able to fill the back seats with my glass terrariums that I wrapped in blankets and made sure everything was snug.
Moving plants is simple compared to someone moving a saltwater aquarium with corals, liverock, fish and other invertebrates..al sensitive to temperature, flow, etc. Check out YouTube. .. lots a videos.
Just move my 8 X 10 growroom content from the basement to the 2nd floor of the house and it wasn't that easy.
I would say, bag every pots other than big nepenthes. Empty the aquariums and refill them as quick as you can once you're done.
Some of my CPs have crush even if it was a really small trip but they are recovering in their bag.
