Leaf Pullings for Propagating

If they have hungry little leaves, I give'em a spray. The spray bottle I use creates a extremely fine mist. It was a miracle-gro orchid fertilizer that I just reused after it was empty. I never used the actual fertilizer from this on pings, but I just reused this bottle with two drops of Schultz cactus (or a single drop of Schultz African violet)

I keep a few of those empty bottles on hand in case a plant needs special treatment. I'd like to try the Shultz's cactus idea on my pings. Do you spray at any particular time (lights off or on)? Generally, the pings are doing well fed with wingless fruit flies, but it could be very helpful feeding the tiny sprouts and leaf pullings.

I find using a fine bore syringe with Schultz Orchid fertilizer at the lower recommended concentration about once a month is good. For bigger pings I spray the roots. Tiny pings I just spray on the plant.

I only have Maxsea. Would like to know if a good idea for me to switch to Schultz cactus, Schultz African violet or Schultz Orchid fertilizer for pings? You use them by preference or by lacking of Maxsea ?

I don't have a set schedule for fertilizing..but it's usually on a weekend and in the middle of the day, so full lights(led).
The mist from that bottle is quite fine, so if you spray from a foot or so away, it gets good coverage, but doesn't soak the leaves or crown.

I use Schultz cactus because someone, I think it was California carnivorous, said that's what they used.
One thing I like about Schultz liquid cactus fertilizer is that it's consistent. 2 drops in that little bottle is around 110 ppm. And I can make a fresh batch when even I need it. I use one drop of the African violet instead, once every few months, just to give the plants a different mix.

Was wondering at what point should I be fertilizing props? For established pings I spray schultz cacti fertilizer monthly, though it’d be impossible to avoid fertilizing the substrate in this prop box.

I'm honestly more generous with my leaf pullings than my more adult pings.

I usually wait until they get a little bigger and more established and then fertilize like 1-2 a month.

I started my props on wet towel paper and then moved to a ping rock (when I started fertilizing):
