I started stratifying some filamentous sundew seeds in the cold room. I find I’m not that crazy about my cape sundews. They are easy to propagate but even in a big pot I’m not impressed. I love the filamentous one I have growing. The regia is doing well but seems to only want four fronds at a time. The pigmy’s are too finicky for my taste, but are pretty. I have a rosette one that almost died but survived through gemae. Still tiny.
I‘m thinking of a min bog with various temperate CP in it. There is a cat litter tray that was too small for my cat that should make a good bog. With the two trays of Sarracenia seeds plus the filamentous sundew and the three flytraps I have, it could make an interesting addition to a grow room. I should probably order some flytrap seeds to stratify as well. I just remembered I don’t have any cobra Lilly’s. I wonder if there are seeds available.
My Pygmy’s are in 500 mL plastic beer glasses so are probably too high up from the water table. I will leave them alone until the bog is ready and transplant then. Ordered 20 mixed flytrap seeds from Carnivorous Plant store. Also ordered a bunch of new cactus seeds. Need to stop soon.
