Drosera spatulata

Hmm.. 8:30am and it looks like it has also aborted blooming… will continue to check on it to confirm its not going to miraculously open in the next few hours. (The other stalk on the other plant still looks the same)
I must admit that I don’t really feed my plants, so I just added some fish flakes to see if that will help give it some energy to bloom.

I feed my puppies reconstituted bloodworms. I wonder if lighting could have anything to do with it? Steve, what kind of light (spectrum if you have it) do you use for your blooming drosera?

few days crammed in a pitch dark ziploc baggie being shipped through a sub-zero cold snap..? LET'S GOOOOOOOO

2 arrived with healthy spikes!! debated snipping em' but the plants have already bounced back and started eating, so let em' have at it I say!

worry not, they'll throw up a new stalk in no time, let em get established and if you really want, let one flower, but watch the plants, they sap alot of energy

good to know! I knew flytraps were bad for it, thought sundews weren't so much... in hindsight they're all pretty extra about it huh? lol

i find sundews can easily flower themselves to death, particularly the annual ones like burmanii. but when ever I let spaths, nidiformis, dielsaiana, they go down hill fast
