My mystery plant is about the size of a penny and grew I’m assuming from seed out of some moss from you that I been growing out to see what surprises I got. I have a few other interesting looking sundews growing that I’m waiting for them to size up before trying to ID. :)

Thanks for the offer Willy! I have plenty of sundews right now I will let you know if and when I feel I need more. :D

Your right though the centre new leaves aren’t unfolding in the same way as d. sessilifolia. Might have to wait till it flowers to help with the Id, I enjoy a good mystery though. I’m still getting new sundews germinating from that tray of moss I got from you last year! :D

What's wrong with this (quite young) sessilifolia sundew? The leaves turn brown and die... I do not let it flowering. Need yours advices. Thank you.IMG_6640.jpg

I'm happy to mail you some. Send me your mailing address? :)

Hi Willy,
Thank for the offer, very kind, appreciate very much.
I will try to feed this plant with dried flies for now to see the outcome. However, what are protein pellets ? are they fish food pellets ?

Repotted the '' unwell '' sessilifolia yesterday. While waiting for its dew's producing, I do this food testing on my burmannii, on a same plant, with 3 kinds of foods, quantity similar to 2 drosophilas.
  • Blue circle: rehydrated blood worm (BW).
  • Red circle: Willy pellet (WP).
  • Yellow circle: 2 frozen drosophilas (FD), which are '' fresh '' with their shape and size preserved.
To be continued...

Today, Nov 7, 2024, 5 days after the beginning of the food's test.
All the foods are completely digested by the leaves. There is no trace of last week's food, except one (?) which is behind a big new leaf: the flies/trace of flies are visible.
There is no difference in size /shape of leaf in regard of kind of food received. The whole plant has taken the advantages.
I continue to feed the leaves same as last time...
However, I think that the food's test must be done on 3 separated plants to assess the difference.

I fed my drosera hercules yesterday. The leaves produce juice +++ on Willy pellet (WP) and curl up on a bunch of dried drosophilas.

And the D. burmannii looks dried...not much dews production, after back to back feeding...
