Drosera regia

Hi folks,

I just had 4 D. Regia seeds germinated this week. I have tried growing them from seeds and failed. Any tips from you guys who had success with them? Appreciate the help. Cheers!

Feed them as much as you can and provide at least a 12 hour photoperiod to ensure they don't try to go dormant on you. I think most people lose their seedlings due to not feeding them.

Here are some photos of growth that my Drosera Regia seedlings I had back in 2015/16. I was digging through my old photos and I felt compelled to share them. I particularly like the beautiful colouration that they adopted once moved outside that reminded me of autumn.

Enjoy!

Moved outside:

I just love the colouration on this, this was right after I moved them outside and they had the sun's light rather than the grow lights they were used to. It reminded me of the leaves turning colours in autumn–the ends of branches always set fire first and then the colour makes it's way inwards.

Regia is a picky grower and the main tip I found useful is that they are really hungry plants, they need to be constantly feed with insects or they will starve. Growing Regia is different from other sundews because they require a little more attention and love.
