Drosera oreopodion

Just wanted to share that I had my first gemmae harvesting experience yesterday with my Drosera oreopodion. Between the seven plants, I gathered about 650 gemmae! It took awhile but I had Netflix, haha. I’m worried about mailing them in this weather with the current delays so I’ve been finding local plant friends to gift some to.

Ugh, this is embarrassing... I left the ziploc bag of 20-gemmae packets open on accident and the paper towels dried up... hopefully not too much. I’d feel silly posting an “at your own risk” gemmae post in the BST section. I’ll just say that anyone who’d still like some hopefully-ok Drosera oreopodion gemmae can send me a message and I’ll buy some envelopes to send them out next week.

Hello folks, I've had a surprising development these last few days. Some of my D. oreopodion are blooming! Does anyone know if these self pollinate? I only got these guys as gemmae around the end of November and I wasn't sure if they were getting enough light because pictures I've seen of them show them a bit redder so I didn't think to expect flowers so soon.

Cute! They are not self-compatible but you’ll have a ton of gemmae of your own before you know it. My small pot of oreopodion grown from gemmae since September has since produced 2000+ gemmae, and some of the plants from those gemmae are producing too!
Thats amazing! You might be up to your armpits in them soon at that rate. What are you doing to get them to produce gemmae? Or do they just make them readily after a while?
