[Closed] Best Carnivorous Plants Import (Closes this Sunday)

King Karnivores

Carnivorous Plant Addict
I wanted to wait for one of the ongoing imports to finish before opening this one but also wanted to get an order in right as the shop reopens so that's why this one's going to be closing so quickly unfortunately.
This import closes this Sunday, October 6th at 11:59pm

This is going to be pretty much the same as the Wistuba order. I’ll instead be charging a flat 25% fee(capped at C$250) + GST/PST. This covers the $112 international shipping, $60 phytosanitary certificate, $22 BCP handling fee, 7% PayPal fee, import permits, currency conversion, and a bit leftover to compensate me for my time/gas. Domestic shipping within Canada is extra and will be quoted when the plants arrive. Pickup is free, as usual.

To order, PM me the list of plants you want. Specify which you want to claim as bonuses (please ensure you do the math correctly). Links are greatly appreciated. Additionally, place an order on my website for BCP Import, this creates a profile in my database that I can use to track orders as well as captures your shipping address for those who need shipping. If your forum username is not your real name, let me know your username in the order comments.
The exchange rate used will be 1.5 CAD/EURO so to calculate the price of your order, take the total plant value of your order and multiple by 1.5 then 1.25 (or just by 1.875) + tax.
Once you message me the plants you want, I'll send you an invoice to pay.
Please send etransfers to payment@kingkarnivores.ca.

Plants should be sent only a week or two after our order is placed so hopefully shouldn't be too cold in most of Canada but if necessary, I can provide cold weather shipping kits(heat pack + foil bubble wrap insulation) at no additional charge.

I've had a few people ask about the 25% fee and GST/PST so I figured I'll give the explanation and math here so everyone is aware. I'm always happy to be transparent with my fees and prices. I have to charge GST/PST because when the plants are imported, I provide the CBSA my GST registration and pay the import tax(13%, since I'm in ON) and claim it as a credit when I file business taxes. If I didn't charge GST/HST, I would essentially be covering the import tax portion of everyone's order.
BCP Import Spreadsheet
I made this handy spreadsheet to help people understand the fees involved. To use it, input the amount (in Euros) of plants you're planning to order in A1 and select your province from the dropdown in A2. If applicable, adjust the domestic shipping amount in D7(ie. $0 for pickup).
There's a decent chance I might've made an error in the spreadsheet so if something seems off, feel free to let me know and I'll take a look.
I also decided it would be good to add a limit of C$250 to the 25% fee (this only really affects you if you were planning on ordering over ~€750 of plants) this should ensure you save money even if you're placing a large order
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks every who's gotten there order in! I realize I didnt specify a time zone but I'll be up for a few more hours anyways so if theres any stragglers, feel free to still submit an order :)

Got an update from Kamil this morning. He's scheduled phyto inspection on Thursday and the plants should be sent out that same day or Friday. We can expect them to arrive around middle of the week next week. Hopefully Tuesday as thats the day I'm least busy...

I should have the plants tomorrow. If you participated in the Ys order as well and want them held and shipped together, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll be sending everyone shipping options as soon once I get the plants organized and packed

I was hoping to get the plants this morning and be able to mail them out before the afternoon Canada post pickup but DHL decided to be difficult so I’m only getting the plants just now. I’ll have everything packed up tonight and ready to mail out in the morning. Shipping options/invoices will go out tonight. Please make sure to respond/pay before morning so your plants get sent out in a timely matter

I don't know if you got brokerage issues but I dealt with DHL lately and they have been holding my plant package for over 10 days already, starting to make me mad. I called them to see what's up to no avail. I'm not a big fan of DHL, I'm not impressed so far !

Ah yeah DHL brokerage is horrible. I only use DHL because I self clear

80% of the time, DHL is terrible, and the rest 20% of the time, they are surprisingly fast. I had DHL hold my plants for 12 days until I said I had enough, then did self-clearance. The parcel was right at their warehouse. I didn't know what they were doing. They seem to have an internal communication issue because every time I called, a new employee asked for the same information over and over again and said, "We will call back within 24 hours with more updates", which they never did.

the parcel has been at their warehouse since the 18th..and nothing has moved since..ridiculous..anyway didn't mean to hijack this post, can't wait to see what people ordered there :)

Yep this is pretty much my experience too. That’s why I always self clear

Starting to unpack and organize orders now. All the plants look to be in great shape(as can be expected with only 4/5 days in transit ). It looks like Kamil was quite generous with Neps and Helis but portions for Pings, Utrics, and others are a bit smaller. Hope everyone is happy with their order nonetheless!
The Neps and Helis are sticking out of the paper towel in each pack so I'll try to print a tag for each growth I see but I'm not going to open the packs and individually count the plants (that'd be an insane amount of work). Pings/Utrics/others are fully wrapped in paper towels so I can't really count how many plants are in each pack so I'll print one for each plant the portion specifies (ie. 1 tag if the portion says 1 plant, 3 tags if the portion says 3 plants, etc). There's additionally a tag from BCP with each portion so hopefully that with the ones I'm adding will be enough for the plants you receive.
If you don't get enough tags, need more, and also really like my tag design, DM me after you receive your plants with how many of each you need and I'll print & send you them via letter mail for a dollar or two.
There's a *lot* of plants in this order and I also need to pot up the plants I got so it'll probably be quite late (East coast wise) by the time I send out shipping invoices so I'll list the price and for expedited/express/priority. Just choose one and send payment to payment@kingkarnivores.ca, no need to confirm anything with me. I'll check messages in the morning before sending out the packages.
To determine a delivery standard, visit Canada Post's Delivery Standards and put M1C 2L3 in the "from" field and your own postal code in the "to" field.

Thanks everyone!

I didn't think anyone would actually be interested in an order so I placed mine this morning haha but if anyone else wants to join, lmk what you want ASAP and ill try to get it added as an addon

Kamil confirmed that I can make an add on order. Anyone interested, please let me know and pay before tonight
Shipping will be quoted once the plants arrive. If temperatures in your area are below freezing, plants must be shipped either express or priority and with a styrofoam shipper (C$10) to qualify for live arrival guarantee. If you would like to waive live arrival guarantee, you may choose any shipping method.
