I'd quarantine that pot unless you want it in your entire collection. Some U. subulata are cleistogamous and can set seed without even having their flowers open or being pollinated. It's a neat little plant but I wouldn't want to grow it for fear of it ending up in all my pots.

Good tip! Definitely don't want it in every pot haha.

Today's project, 4x2 insulated cedar bog planter. Pond liner will arrive on Wednesday! PVC watering system with lava rock at the bottom. Will also have an over flow 1 inch below the soil line so it doesn't flood in heavy rains. Goal is to be able to mulch the top and leave it out through the Fraser valley winters!

so awesome!!! your idea has been stolen lol.

Still lots of pitchers coming up for the middle of September. Did a big trim today mostly flava and oreophila (goats were happy to have a snack)

The drosera in the flood table are confused because it stays about 6-7 degrees warmer and gets about 4 more hours of sun than my bog. The bog drosera are all going dormant while the flood table still has some producing flowers.

Minor cleanup day for the flood table. Getting rid of brown/half dead pitchers.

Bulging pots were a common theme. Guess I will be doing a lot of transplanting this spring.

Or I could just be lazy like I was last spring and cut a notch into the pot

Cutting station. A broken flood table sitting on my kids picnic table

I usually don't repot/divide my plants until March but some of them were looking at little too cramped. Few plants got moved into 2 gallon pots.

This moorei had a stupid amount of
Growth points

This one of my very first sarracenia grown from seed. Purchased the seeds from the carnivorous plant store (Flava "Cps Neon) It germinated January 2022, spent two summers inside and then got moved outside this June. 5 growth points already and not quite 3 years old. Will probably flower for me next spring.

Secret to quick sarracenia growth= lots of light, Maxsea(max-roids) and repotting when they are seedlings.
