As a woman involved in a few gardening / plant groups I can confidently say that lots of women grow CPs ! once word got out that droseras can help control fungus gnats, many get hooked from there ;p I just like growing things and my kid is interested in evolution and bog eco-systems, so CPs became a fun activity we can do together.

Men might come around to it for different reasons, and maybe historically it was more a male-centric hobby, but I wouldn’t assume there’s any great gender divide any longer. I concede that men might, in general, be more into tinkering with lights, humidity, technology, propagation techniques, etc., but even that is changing. I know nothing about growing in vitro, so I’m following with interest :)

For more info on mircropropagation/tc Watch this young american girl on Youtube called " plants in jars." You'll find out what terms like somaclonal variations are, and much more. Some of the chemicals may be very hazardous though.

I was thinking, there is one very unique and rare Heliamphora found here. That's Maiden's Heliamphora "Red Mambo"
That might be a great one to get out there, if you don't have some already. I know he had some for sale a few years ago.
