Anyone growing caudex plants?

Along with carnivorous plants I also have a few caudex plants. Recently I wanted to expand my collection a bit with an Adenia globosa. I actually made a whoopsie since I thought the one I was getting was a tiny one for a 4" pot since most of the other ones at the price range I was buying from were small. Turns out for some reason the one being sold was pretty big, and I had to go buy a pot and use up all my soil media to fill it.

I think most caudex plants are "wild caught" if not straight up poached, but the vendor selling this one is pretty reputable and said all their plants are from a nursery.

Oh yea desert roses are great too. Although for most caudex plants seeds are kind of rare due to the dioecious flowers. I think most of seeds sold online are fake, pretty much the same with cp seeds.

I currently also have a flowering Dorstenia foetida that I collected a few seeds from. That one is a pretty easy grower and actually produces too much seeds that fling themselves to every other pot.

Here's another one of my plants, this one is a Sinningia leucotricha

And recently Stephania erecta has been getting very popular probably because it's very photogenic. Here's mine when it was dormant:

Here's my D. elephantipes, although I mine wasn't from seed. I definitely want to try a few from seed though:

Here's a Gonolobus cyclophyllus in flower with a Euphorbia japonica at the back, both are fairly inexpensive caudex plants:

In terms of ant plants, I'm not too familiar with them but there was a store in NYC that had a bunch on display:

would it not be a hybrid of foetida

the inflorescence does not remind me of the typical foetida

It might be a hybrid. The label said foetida but who knows? The flower was only a few mm across so it probably was atypical. Have to wait till it grows up.

the flower on the inflorescence can also be the solution; it also gives off a pungent odor.

for latex all dorstenia produce it ;)

on the inflorescences there are 2 types of flower, males and females, they must be open to smell, for fertilization it is the same thing.

nota bene: this is why on certain species when the number of female flowers is outnumbered compared to the male flower that there is no fertilization

see my web site http://fern72.free.fr/siteweb/dorsteniag.html ( in french desolate)

but nevertheless the latex must also smell, it can also be harmful to the skin

I have a stephania erecta and a bunch of young Buddha belly (jatropha podagrica) plants I grew from seed. I love the Buddha bellies... I used to have a mature one and it was my favourite plant!
