An article on vanishing succulents

Good article, thanks for sharing Hal! I'm always surprised by the number of obviously poached cacti and succulents I see on my recommendation page on Instagram (I always report them, though instagram doesn't even have a report button for the illegal plant trade, only illegal wildlife) - lots of Copiapoa and Agave. The thing to do seems to be learning to recognize the signs of poaching, know the commonly poached species, and buy small or grow from seed - supporting environmental causes is a good one too (I donate a % when I sell plants).

I recall a lady tried to smuggle 1000 cutting strapped to her back in February..https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/feb/04/new-zealand-smuggler-found-with-nearly-1000-cacti-and-succulents-strapped-to-her-body
