  • seems like my experiments drying out u. machrorhiza (western populations of u. vulgaris) are just forming turions... coming to the conclusion that these may be non-flowering specimens. no matter! I hear of sightings within walking distance of my house, so a hunting we shall go!

Believe it’s water temperature and obviously long days that triggers flowering, all I seen in bloom have been growing floating in water that doesn’t change level with the seasons.

Hey thanks for the care sheet that's perfect! Theyre getting plenty of light but come to think of it our place is relatively cold... I'll get some clippings going outside and see if that does it
Noticed both flytrap and pygmy sundew seedlings are up today! :D I forgot how adorable itty bitty traps were, pics coming as soon as they're big enough for my camera to focus on! Nothing yet from my utric seeds... but then how would I know? What do utric seedlings even look like?

Depends on the species but for the most part they look like mini flat grass for terrestrial species and floating/grounded green spider webs for aquatic.

I don't think I've ever seen Utric seedlings. One day there's nothing and the next time you look, it's growing like crazy.
