What light bulbs?

Watt is a unit for measuring power, Volt is a unit for measuring voltage.
Power (W) = Voltage (V) * Current (A)

Energy is measured in Watt-hour.
Energy (Wh) = Power (W) * Time (h)

To understand it better, you can think of this as a water pipe.
Voltage is the pressure of the water, current is the flow rate of the water, and power is how much water is flowing at a given time.
Therefore, energy is how much water has moved in the pipe over a certain period of time.

I can definitely do heat shrink!
You use four of them!? I may have to see what the husband has laying around for fans.
Thanks again!

That's pretty neat!

Now do that with circuits!

It's for my intermediate tub haha I'm running 9 x 2ft strips. I'm trying to keep the temperature under 24C during the day so really trying to push any hot air away from the tub.

Here's an older pic:

So my lights came in! We got turn installed tonight, but I don't have the power cords for them yet, and I didn't realize the time I bought isn't grounded, so I'm going to get a different one.
But I thought some one might be interested to see how I've set up my grow area, for now. I ended up using 4 lights on each shelf. I'm hoping they'll over spill light to the guys below, on the stairs.

I've made little cardboard cut outs of the plants I've bought, to try to place them in an area that will be happy in. My plan is to keep my Heli. and sphagnum on the bottom shelf and I'll slide an insulated box with a frozen gel pack under it each night. I'm hoping my thermometers get here soon, but I may have to buy a couple more to get them quicker so I have something to start with.
There is one more terrarium to go on the table, but I have to clean up a bit before I can make room for it. Please don't judge my dirty house, I've been spending time on research and not cleaning!

Thanks again for everyone's help! You guys are so nice to ignorant noobs. I can't wait to get my plants! (I must complement myself for being responsible and getting everything set up before buying too many CP's and for waiting to get them sent to me!)

Ok guys, the set up has been working for over 2 years, but my Ikea bulbs are dying. They don't seem to sell the 11W 5000k 1000 lumen LED ones anymore. I tired to find some others, but I don't think the K values I need. What is the current suggestion for bulbs to fit in the floor lamp in the picture from my previous post?

Thanks!!

Willy, you're amazing! I looked for bulbs at Ikea 8 weeks ago, and I swear they didn't have anything. I settled on different bulbs, which never got shipped, and then a friend picked up for me, but I hate the yellowness of them (they aren't the right K anyways). I'm also going to Ikea this weekend, and these seem to be in stock at my store! You've solved all my bulb problems!! Well done Sir!

as a side note, if the previous bulbs were also supposed to last 15000 hours, they totally didn't! more like 10,000!

We were lucky, it took less than a half hour of walking through cattle gates, and we were done in less than an hour total! We went straight to the market place, and knew exactly what we wanted. Other than it being very hot in the line up, it was pretty good. Ikea had a pick up option, but it's got too busy, so they have cut it off. And online with delivery is taking months

That's great to hear! We did spend time at the food place to try the new salmon balls (really good!) and enjoyed the bunch, and walked through the whole store to check if there's new stuff that we wanted. So that's probably why it took us so long haha!

Is a 1000 lumin LED a decent output for CPs?
I want to replace my T5s.
It's not bad for one medium sized Nepenthes or few small plants, per bulb. It has similar performance to a 23w CFL from my experiment years ago.
