What do you think?

I found these little guys at the nursery yesterday. They were just labelled "pitcher plant". I've never been able to keep a nepenthes this small (5 cm) alive but they were $7 a piece. If I can keep them alive I'll gift one to my mom next year. If they die, I'm only $14 out.

So what do you figure they are? Ventrata or ventricosa, I'm guessing.

They look healthy so probably ok to leave them in the pot. Still the moss doesn't look like sphagnum. If they stop growing or don't look well, repot them.

Was at Canadian Tire today (Burnaby BC) and they a bunch of Pitcher Plants, Sarracenia at the back for just $3.99 ( 5cm). Most other places I would imagine, charge upwards of $7.99 and up. They were kinda dry but otherwise really good shape... I bough a Sarracenia.

Which Canadian Tire did you go to? That's a great deal :)

Southh Burnaby at Byrne and Marine Way, Which plant is worth more? The pitcher or Sarc? They still had those in the tray and were all labelled $3.99 for 2.5" plants ( tropical, etc.)... they probably still there tomorrow if anyone wants them.

Looks like a Canadian Tire shipment of CPs came from the same supplier as the ones I found at Potters but even cheaper. There's my thunder stolen!

The Potters shipment also contained a bunch of tiny Sarracenias but, as was the case with the Nepenthes, I have no idea what species were there. All of them are just labelled "trumpet pitcher". Here's the one I bought. Thoughts?
