Back over Thanksgiving, we spent the weekend as an extended family at a cottage near the Lake of Bays in Muskoka, ON. There was a small lake we were on, at the center of the lake was a sphagnum bog, full of dwarf tamarack, cotton grass, bog cranberries, and (of course) Sarracenia! There were many plump red S. p. purpurea throughout the bog. The only way around was via kayak!
