found these at home hardware. I really wasn't expecting to see anything beside generic VFT for $12 there. Pick two of them up and have them in a bog like with perlite covering the open water from mosquito.

I found the exact same for about 20 bucks at my local nursery. Labels and substrate looks identical.

My plant is/was healthy and growing.

Probably all home hardware in Alberta. I don't know about other provinces. Wouldn't hurt to go browse their nursery.

Just wanted to add my Scarlet Belle from Humber was in desperate need of repotting. I didn't realize right away but when I repot mine, the existing soil was extremely degraded. Switched in some 60:40 peat: perlite and it seems way happier now.

Mine only had rocks (looks like granite) as a top dressing. The rest of the substrate looked to be pure peat.

I have found there appears to be a Cloth like fabric inside the soil of SOME plants. My friend got two scarlet Belles and one of them had this fabric inside the pot they oringially came with.

I think I saw something similar in mine but it was really really degraded. I do remember pulling some threads out while teasing the roots apart/washing the old peat off the roots. I'm guessing it's one of those starter cloth wrapped pucks.

I just kind of wish home hardware carried more carnivorous plants so I end up buying them all on super discounts sales.
