I’ve been going crazy on threads past week. Apologies.

One of my favourite joys of keeping Carnivorous Plants. Feeding time. And the question what to feed?

One of my favourite joys of keeping Carnivorous Plants. Feeding time. And the question what to feed?
From late spring to late fall I like to feed my Nepenthes Carpenter Ants as they are jam packed full with protein as they eat other insects and sweet sugars from aphids and anything they can get their mits on, they particularly pray on small garden ants outside my porch, my opinion one or best insects to feed your plants especially with fatty proteins and help my plants gain vigorous growth through summer to help them in the winter and occasionally I do find the odd wasp to throw in.
My sundews often take the smaller ants.

Ants fascinate me but boy are they annoying and so are yellow jackets.o_O

During Winter months I give my plants CP pellets and even frog food will do which few members use on here- this will tick them over before the summer - for the all you can eat mandarin buffet style lol insects galore

Check out this Carpenter Ant I took in summer munching on helpless worker.

Well, in spring here in Winnipeg we get a crap load of Cankerworms.

So my plan is to collect as much as needed and fee my nepenthes with them!
I believe just 1 tree will provide too much food for all my plants...
