I found out five years ago you could grow almonds in Canada or parts of Canada. There’s one variety designed to grow this far north, Halls hardy almond. (https://www.google.ca/amp/s/agardenerstable.com/2016/02/08/adventures-with-almonds-part-i-the-marvelously-fragrant-halls-hardy-almond/amp/). So I bought a five foot tree and it’s been thriving here. The shell is extremely hard but the almonds are large and have a amazing flavour.
