I was going to post this when I got home! I’m glad you beat me to it.
I met Adam at Kew a couple years ago and he’s a really nice guy and a lot of fun to talk to. For those who don’t know he write the book on Aldrovanda (the Redfern Book) so I’m sure he’s extremely excited about this.

Seen some others posting about Aldrovanda, here’s an update on my journey.
Still no action four months later although I believe they can take a while so I haven’t given up hope.
I split the seeds between my established pond aquarium and a clear container with live Sphagnum under lights to better my odds.
Here’s one seed safely contained in N95 mask in my aquarium

don’t the utricularias need dormancy? Or are they a tropical variety?
Good question.
I can say for sure that Utricularia graminifolia and Utricularia gibba do not need any dormancy.
Utricularia macrorhiza. Utricularia minor seem more temperate but in my experience have shown no need for a dormancy. Mine have been going for 2-3 years depending on the type without dormancy.
I don’t believe any of them require a dormancy. Dormancy for them seems more like just surviving. They die back to just a resting bud in winter and hope for the best. I believe they grow when the conditions are favourable.
