In view of the volatility of the vaccine information available (The CDC just had another announcement this am!) and in consultation with @daniella3d, the previous vaccine thread has been deleted. Sorry for any mix-up.
Oh good , next time please post it in plain English hahahaha and thank you both for constantly reminding people to educate themselves before any decisions.
I managed to book a shot of the Astra Zeneca vaccine for Monday! An hour drive each way but it will be a weight off my shoulders. We’ll be able to see the grandkids again when the current lockdown ends.
That's great. However the vaccines aren't 100% effective, especially with the variants. We'll still have to be cautious until some proportion of people are vaccinated. I'm guessing late fall will be the happy time.
Yup. Got my first jab for the Moderna pair. 2.5 hr drive each way. Still worth it! I've said all along that I am neither in the denial nor panicked camps. I'm in the "would prefer not to get" group. Having the vaccine completed will let me feel more comfortable wearing my mask to work and the grocery store. Talking to my epidemiologist friends, I anticipate an autumn booster for breakout variants. No biggie. I get a flu shot each autumn anyhow.
Thanks @Lloyd Gordon for keeping folks up to date and being a source information!
