Peat bogs are some of the most effective, biodiverse, and proven long term carbon sinks (C02 sequestration) on the planet. That alone makes alternatives to peat extraction imperative.
I’d go with Hericium coralloides, edible and choice when fresh, with no poisonous lookalikes in BC. They prefer deciduous trees in my area Acer macrophyllum (Bigleaf maple) and Quercus garryana (Garry Oak). It’s a very fine day when you find Hercium on Salt Spring as the out of control deer...
I’m really sorry to hear this Raymond. Those are some beautiful plants and I know you have been a talented purp grower for awhile now. If we lived closer I’d be more than happy to take care of your plants while you get things sorted out… but we can keep it in mind as a last resort as plants...

I tried Sarracenia seed (purpurea) from them many years back…I got like 10% germination.
I generally think BCP is very reputable but I pass on the seed, I think it may be old and or improperly stored. I’ve gotten good germination from Sarracenia seed from other sources that was 6+ years old...
Try letting your Ceph dry out a little bit between waterings if you're not already doing that. Also promptly remove any dead or browning leaves/pitchers, Cephs really appreciate being kept manicured in cultivation.
